Christian
Counselling
Christian counselling begins with the solid foundation of inspired Biblical truth, respect for God and His involvement in human affairs, and respect and care for humankind, who are created in His image. From this foundation, the Christian
counsellor broadens his understanding through the study of sociology, psychology and the secular systems of
counselling, keeping such principles and intervention strategies as are consistent with the Faith, while rejecting those which are not. The end product is an effective system of
counselling rooted in Christian faith and values, yet which also incorporates the best of human learning and wisdom from the helping sciences.

The Christian counsellor understands and respects the faith of his clients and often incorporates this into the overall plan of helping clients resolve their problems. Reference to Scripture and prayer are not uncommon in Christian
counselling sessions.
About the Counsellor
Tom Adams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology (1994), and a Master’s of Arts in Biblical
Counselling (2004). He also maintains current membership in the Professional Association of Canadian Christian
Counsellors (PACCC).
Tom grew up in a seriously dysfunctional home. Therefore, he knows what it’s like to struggle with fear, shame, guilt, low self-esteem, addictions, and interpersonal problems. Because of his background, he is often able to better understand where struggling people are coming from emotionally. Although he has both educational and professional credentials, his real life experience certainly contributes an important dimension to his
counselling practice and empathetic appreciation of people.
Tom came to Christ in 1988 at age 20, has been married since 1992, and he and his wife have 3 children.
Hours of operation and fees
New Day Christian Counselling only offers evening sessions.
Sessions last 55-60 minutes and the fee is $75.00 which includes the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Testimonials (Names are changed to protect confidentiality)
“No one ever took the time to listen to what I was thinking and feeling; they’d just tell me what to do without even really knowing what was going on… You were the first [Christian leader] to really understand before trying to help.” – Derek
“I’d say my depression was about an 8 out of 10 when I first came to see you. Now, [10 weeks later] it’s at about 2 out of 10, which is to say, I still sometimes feel sad about things, but that awful dark feeling of hopelessness is behind me… I think I’m ready to move on.” – Kayla
“We were about ready to throw in the towel – we couldn’t even have a
simple conversation without it turning into a fight. Learning
conflict resolution skills has changed everything; now we listen to
each other and try hard to understand each other. We made a few important changes in how we communicate that have probably saved our marriage and family.” – Keith & Sharon
“If I had any idea that things could change so much so quickly, I would have done this years ago.” – Sarah
